I take up an element that was also part of this topic. To put it very simply: Is the path fulfilled, nibbana realized with bringing about sammā-samādhi? If there is a path to the end of dukkha, then with reaching the final point of that path the end of dukkha should be there. After all this is the promise of the Fourth Truth.
