In AN 3.13 it’s āsaṁsa. This is an interesting Sutta on the hopeless, the hopeful, and the one who has done away with hope.

the Concise Pāḷi Dictionary has:

f. apekkhā; ākaṅkhā; abhilāsā; patthanā.
v.t. āsiṃsati; pattheti; apekkhati.

The pali word for hope mentioned in the sutta referenced above is similar to the word used in most north Indian languages of today, Aashaa and its counterpart Niraashaa (for hopelessness). The other word for hope in Sanskrit is Apekshaa, the Pali version of it is mentioned above by @Khemarato.bhikkhu. Nowadays, Apekshaa would be used mostly where the use of classical Hindi is required like in literary works.
