Why do people like dancing?

I used to like dancing when I was young.
Now I wonder why people dance.
Does dancing come with what sense desire?
Is it body desire?
What is the mental state of a person who is dancing?

Even small babies dance - it is some kind of natural instinct to move the body in a rhythmic fashion. In the Noble one’s discipline, this is called “madness.”

There is a very short route through the brain from the ears to the motor neurons, especially the ones activating the legs. This process is very fast and bypasses whole swathes of conscious and semi-conscious processes. It is why some people have real difficulty suppressing the urge to tap their feet to music. It is speculated that there is an evolutionary advantage to moving your feet when you hear a sound because it may have saved our ancestors from predators.

I tried it once. I sprained my ankle, so I stopped.
