Why I don't believe Buddha taught about Jains

I am not sure if it is worth it to find these if you don’t have faith in any of the nikayas other than sutta nipata. I am still reading my first round on reading the suttas, currently on AN book 8.

Here’s the description of the 6 heretical teachers during Buddha’s time: DN2 SuttaCentral

And in SN24.5-8, we see that these views are part of the views to be abandoned: SuttaCentral

In MN76, SuttaCentral we see Ananda address some of the heretical views too.

MN14 he talked to the Jain monks directly: SuttaCentral

Thanks I always liked the one where he was talking to Mahanama about Jains. It’s very much humble speaking. That’s what I mean. And it’s very straight to point. And it’s according to the way Buddha was said to teach out of compassion.

I do have faith in the nikayas its just ofcourse here and there and in AN that I find that they have a unfamiliar style, but I don’t know how to explain the faith Sutta Nipata raises. Maybe its because it’s very close to Buddha Enlightenment? :man_shrugging:
