Why the recent change from ṃ to ṁ?

What keyboard are you folks using to get the m with dot on top? I have a US + Pali keyboard that I installed from somewhere and haven’t updated in several years. The Alt-GR-m combination gives ṃ and I can’t find any combination that gives the m with overdot.

Hi @greenTara,

I don’t know if the is an accepted key combination for ṁ, but I have modified both my Windrow and Linux layouts to associate ṁ with the w key.

David.

I use the autohotkey script here:

If you want different key combinations you can download the script itself and recompile it.

I use the Linux compose key.

  • In order to get ṁ I type: COMPOSE + . + m
  • In order to get ṃ I type: COMPOSE + ! + m
