strong textMy path to Buddhism began with reading whatever I could lay my hands on in the early to mid 1960s; among the titles was Heinrich Harrer's Seven Years in Tibet. I also recall very early, perhaps 1960, a wintry Sunday evening viewing of grainy slides presented at the Melbourne Town Hall by the Theosophical Society that was perhaps my earliest introduction. Buddhist groups and societies in Melbourne, Darwin, northern New South Wales and, now, Canberra, followed. I am most comfortable with the Theravada tradition while making a study of Mahayana along the way.
