A way of moving long distances and across realms?

In many of the stories, the following sentence is mentioned:

“just as a strong man might stretch out a bent arm, or bend in an outstretched arm”

Is this Buddha’s way of ‘teleportation’?

I think it is just an idiom. Like in English ‘in the blink of an eye’ or ‘in a finger snap’. So it means something like he arrived there instantaneously.

Hmm… I also always took it to indicate a degree of control over the experience. Just as a strong man has extended and bent his arm many times, someone who has mastered this attainment can do it at will, repeatedly.

This is very different from people who meditate and one time have an extraordinary experience, but it wasn’t under their control and they can’t repeat it.
