Thank you so much for sharing @sujato 's metta retreat files here, @musiko :hugs:
(And it’s so nice to see audio files at reasonable sizes! I’ve been adding some BSWA audio files to my mp3 player recently and they’re huge!!! I’m having to clear out so many dhamma talks, sutta study talks and chanting files just to add a relatively small number of BSWA audio files
I wonder who might be the best person to drop a line to and offer some feedback about this might be?)

This is musiko’s speciality.
There is a whole tag section called Audio optimized Topics tagged audio-optimized and you will find a lot of the BSWA content there.

Thank you very much indeed, Venerable! @Pasanna

Dear @musiko , just a quick technical question if you don’t mind. How are you optimizing files for audio? E.g. I’ve tried simply converting BSWA mp4a files to mp3 but, unsurprisingly, that doesn’t reduce file size. Whilst I’m not an IT/audio expert, I have used Audacity in the past to do some straightforward tasks. So is there something I can do within Audacity to create a smaller mp3 file from a larger mp4a without losing too much quality? E.g. what bitrate settings would you recommend for speech/dhamma talk content which would be listened to on headphones?
Any help or advice will be gratefully received.

Hey @musiko , there’s no need for you to respond to my question (unless you really want to ).
Using Audacity, I experimented with a 1-hour 55-minute sutta-study mp4a file which started out at 109.43 MB. After much testing, I settled on these settings: mono with a sample rate of 24000 Hz and an Average mode bit rate quality of 24000 kbps. I also used a short meditation break to sample the background noise and then applied noise reduction to the whole thing. After cutting the short meditation breaks, I ended up with a 1-hour 44-minute mp3 at 19.27 MB - that’s a saving of over 90MB and it sounds absolutely fine! Imagine how many more dhamma resources one could fit on a device when one’s saving this much data every time…
After all that experimenting, I’d still be interested to learn the settings you use but don’t feel obliged. Once again, well done for all of your work sharing audio-optimized dhamma files! :hugs:
P.s. I know I could have gone even smaller but I felt at 16000 kbps and lower, the lower audio quality was noticeable with speech starting to sound a little ‘echoey’.
P.p.s. I’m only planning on converting a small selection of things but if I convert any complete courses or workshops that you haven’t already done, I’ll follow your example and share them here too.

Thank you so much, Ven @Pasanna and @Gillian.
