I was wondering, why someone who touches nirodha samapatti then becomes arahant or non returner?

What affects this boos towards parinibbana?

I was wondering, why someone who touches nirodha samapatti then becomes… non returner?

My impression is the person is a non-returner prior to attaining nirodha samapatti because they have mastered the four jhana, per AN 3.86.
