Dear Bhante,
Would it be possible to have all the categories put on tabs on the main page for easier navigation like the sample below as discourse is expanding with new additions of topics?
Putting the categories in tabs will better organize the page and it won’t look so cluttered.

Tabs aren’t possible (too much hacking), but perhaps we could enable the Categories Page as Home page. This is a fairly common way of using Discourse, and in my opinion it is friendlier for new visitors, as it shows the structure of things better, rather than the “stream of consciousness” style of the default view. It’s easy to enable, so I’ll try it out and see whether people like it or not.
The previous default view is available as the “Latest” posts.

pity, i liked it better informal and amorphous, it felt freshier
now it looks as boring as your average forum
