Haiku: your pet peeve and other musings about Buddhism

Dharma Fracking.
The men came in suits.
Crying Bhantes escorted out by smiling CEOS.
We were sold our dharma disfigured.

The Worthy Ones

Best friends to the World,
freed from conceit and contempt,
they helped people grow.

Not in the numbers,
or greed, hate and delusions,
but in true freedom.

I am that, maybe,
No self, no soul or not self,
Or nothing at all.

Those who speak don’t know,
Those who know can’t speak the Truth;
We wonder in search.

Three things are true:
Death, impermanence, taxes.
I don’t know the rest.

Under the willow
Tree I think. I am the one
Who doesn’t know.

Seeing mind thinking,
many thoughts come and go, but
who is one who knows?

What is in the pot?
Thai synthetic giraffe-lion dye,
Unknown ingredients.

Sewing double seams,
Magadhan paddyfield pattern,
Twenty metres’ thread.

Cannot sit on floor,
Medical issue not sin,
Tendon laxity.

Finally solved it,
The sugata measurement,
Not appreciated.

Robe falls off shoulder,
Yes I am going to solve this,
Not today though.

Robe falls off shoulder,
I now resolve to solve this,
Sadhu sadhvi style.

Took spoon to house meal,
To generous dayakas,
I give a spoon gift.

Poor exegesis,
The commentary doesn’t say,
What you think it says.

Generous support,
Unclear on alms procedure,
Raw meat in the bowl.

Further delays,
Unconcerned re time limits,
Eleven forty.

Hundreds of people,
Confused supporter’s daughter,
With his divorced wife.

Hundreds of people,
World leaders in meal dana,
But not at cleaning.

Hundreds of people,
The dishwashing upasika
misses desana.

Everyone has it,
Now sleuthing the origin,
Of food poisoning.

This foreign bhikkhu,
Thinks I don’t understand him,
Called mae chi again.

Bodhi Tree

Big golden statues
shine in artificial light.
Bodhi Tree forgotten.

Sacred Bodhi Tree
almost died not long ago.
So monks built lamp house.

Lit up day and night,
living tree doesn’t get much rest.
Please turn the lights off.
