How does one practice the dhutanga sitter-practice without hurting his back?

How does one practice the dhutanga sitter-practice without hurting his back ?

It seems this practice is not good for both mental and physical health?

Sitter’s Practice (nesajjik’anga) — living in the three postures of walking, standing and sitting and never lying down .

Also, this practice is not found in the core teachings of SN/SA suttas.

Yeah, that’s the main point.

Yes, then can do overnight not sleeping and recover the next day.

Sleeping while sitting is quite bad experience, it could discourage one from meditation.

Unless one goes into Bhavaṅga mode and the posture is still nice. But then it’s basically sleeping in meditation.

Doing it too often damages the body too much and one cannot withstand not sleeping the whole night.

For one who values the body and knows the importance of sleep, one would avoid doing this if possible.
