Introducing the Introductions

Over the past few months, I’ve been slowly putting together some introductions for the 4 nikayas, intended to accompany my translations.

I think they’re close to being ready, so I’d like to post them here and see if I can get some feedback from your good selves.

There are 5 introductions: a General Introduction, and then one for each of the 4 nikayas. I’ll post them every few days to give a chance for you to read them one at a time. Once I’m happy with them, they’ll be put onto the main site.

I’m so glad I popped back in and saw this! These essays are a brilliant companion for those unfamiliar with the Nikayas and the Buddha’s Teachings and for those who are very familiar and for everyone inbetween.

I had many favourite bits, the best were so beautiful that I had to get up and walk away - mind blown!

Thank you for this extraordinary effort and for sharing your decades of learning and experience.
