Max Moerman - Indian Cosmology in Japanese Buddhism

Max Moerman gives a highly illuminating talk on “The Centrality of Indian Cosmology in the Japanese Buddhist Visual Culture” at the Ho Center for Buddhist Studies at Stanford University. Moerman discusses how Japanese Buddhism attempted to systematized Indian cosmology as a challenge to Western Christian cosmology being taught in Asia.

This presentation does not reflect the Theravada position.

I know, but it’s still interesting to see Buddhist cosmology from a Japanese perspective.

Agree.
