don’t know how significant this is, the four suttas are already recognized as containing parallels pairwise (AN 11.16 & MN 52; AN 9.36 & MN 64), but this particular passage links all 4 of them
Staying right there, he reaches the ending of the mental fermentations. Or, if not, then—through this very dhamma-passion, this very dhamma-delight, and from the total wasting away of the first five of the fetters—he is due to be reborn [in the Pure Abodes], there to be totally unbound, never again to return from that world.

Another interesting parallel, not sure if it should be included. At SN 1.62 we have exactly the same set of Q&A in verse which is found at AN 4.186 as prose. Maybe list as sectional?
Wow @LXNDR - you’ve been busy!
abandonment of taints by endurance
Also in https://suttacentral.net/pi/pi-tv-kd1/439.672-439.911
before the gap
https://suttacentral.net/pi/an4.114/7-10.2351 = https://suttacentral.net/pi/an5.140/12-131
This should be an4.114#9-#10 (not #7)
guarding the sense doors, moderation in eating, devotion to wakefulness
could you also have a look at the following (mentioned) parallels?
“parallels”: [“an4.37#3”, “mn33#17-#20”],
“mentions”: [“an4.37#3”, “kv18.9#4”, “kv10.3#6”]
here’s a fuller list with addition of elephant similes
https://suttacentral.net/pi/an4.114/2-3 = https://suttacentral.net/pi/an5.140/2-3 (before the gap)

guarding the sense doors, moderation in eating, devotion to wakefulness
https://suttacentral.net/pi/an4.37/3-5.445
so AN 4.37 belongs here because it has all three parts, not just guarding the sense doors
guarding the sense doors (only)
https://suttacentral.net/pi/mn33/20.46-20.636
https://suttacentral.net/pi/kv18.9/4 - not identical, same theme phrased somewhat differently
https://suttacentral.net/pi/kv10.3/6.84-6.298 - identical but lacking the last sentence (_Yatvādhikara_ … manindriye saṃvaraṃ āpajjati)
SN 4.9#2, in addition to the two passages in the Mnd, should be listed as resembling parallel with DN 19#87-91
i wonder whether it’s only on my end that on staging under suttas Textual details the regular content is displayed with no new tables of parallels, i don’t see them in both Chrome and Mozilla and both gave me an security certificate warning before allowing to enter the site
and while i’m at it, i’d like to know whether verse parallels between DN 16 and SN 6.15 are already attested for in the data
The new parallels are only visible by manually adding /ll/ to the URL: SuttaCentral
Indeed they are:
We are missing EA 47.9 as a Resembling parallel to MN 8 and MA 91.
thank you very much, silly me
Added that!
Done that. Thanks.
SN 48.36 currently does not have any parallel listed for now.
I have found a listing of its 5 faculties of sukhindriya, dukkhindriya, somanassindriya, domanassindriya and upekkhindriya in SA 485 (T II 0124a 09) -
云何說五受?謂樂根、喜根、苦根、憂根、捨根,是名說五受。
It actually deals with the 5 types of feeling and the sequence is a little different, but it looks uncannily like SN 48.36’s listing, given that the 5 feelings are described as indriyas (根), without the analysis.
Thanks, Sylvester. Ayya, can you list this as a resembling parallel in the new data?
Have done, but waiting for staging to restart.
Just note that SA 485 has several full parallels too:
MN 59, SHT-sutta 12, SHT-sutta 79 and SN36.19
Now I cannot check the SHT suttas, but the two Pali suttas don’t seem to have anything to do with this topic.
So I suggest to make SA 485 resembling to this list also rather than full parallel.
On a separate note, in the parallel’s list (on staging/ll/), things are now still called “partially parallel”. Shall I change that to “resembling parallel”?
Sure.
Umm, are they really? Partial includes “resembling” and “sectional”: so are all the sectional parallels now separately defined? If so, go ahead, if not, we should leave it for the time being.
