"Parents who have accumulated bad kamma give birth to daughters"- Says Famous Sri Lankan Monk

The phrases using “few” and “many” are found in many contexts in the suttas, such as:

Then the Buddha, picking up a little bit of dirt under his fingernail, addressed the mendicants: “What do you think, mendicants? Which is more: the little bit of dirt under my fingernail, or this great earth?”

“Sir, the great earth is certainly more. The little bit of dirt under your fingernail is tiny. Compared to the great earth, it doesn’t count, there’s no comparison, it’s not worth a fraction.”

Saying that human birth is rare is only skillful and truthful if followed by a comparison phrase like a juxtaposition that animal birth like insects, fish and molluscas are way more numerous. And peta birth, and hell birth. Otherwise, if the phrase of human birth rarity is standing alone, I propose that it is an attempt of deception, a half truth and a full lie. To develop wrong view is one of the worst things you can do, since it would always lead to lower births. This is according to the Buddha himself, repeated in very numerous verses.
