The changes are following feedback that the ToS was too long and legalistic, which it certainly is. It is basically just boilerplate we inherited from the stock Discourse install. I have taken out some of that; for example, stuff dealing with paid accounts, ads, and the like.
But much more should be removed. I don’t see any reason why ToS should be more than a few paragraphs. If anyone knows a simple solution, let me know!
