I just discovered that Pariyatti has made the revised 1990 edition of Ven. Buddharakkhita’s Dhammapada translation available as a free PDF download.
For those who aren’t aware, the edition found on Access to Insight as well as here on SuttaCentral are from the 1985 edition published by the BPS. It has been available for (limited) free non-commercial use for some time. My understanding is that the 1990 version was re-edited by Bhante Bodhi.
The pdf linked to on the page above is not available for free distribution. This is common for many of Pariyatti’s pdf downloads. So if you like to have a free epub/Kindle version, or a neat pdf booklet, you are for now stuck with what is on ReadingFaithfully.org:
Personally I prefer the language in the later edition. But I prefer the price and freedom of the earlier one.
