International Translation Day 2022

Continuing the discussion from Discussion for Bilara users:

From Wikipedia:

International Translation Day is an international day recognising translation professionals. It is on 30 September, which is the day of the feast of St. Jerome, the Bible translator who is considered the patron saint of translators.

Let’s express our appreciation for all the translators on SuttaCentral, as well as all the translators who have come before!

And all the emerging translators too! All of those currently wading through the mire of language acquisition in the hopes of one day bringing communities closer together—we salute you!

I was just thinking today about all the time I spent sitting in the forest reading K.R. Norman’s translation of the Thera and Therigatha. I really appreciate his work.
