This is my first effort translating from Sanskrit. My real target is poetic writing in the Khuddaka Nikaya, but I wanted to master Sanskrit before Pali—because I tend to go about these things in an old-fashioned way. There are some Mahayana classics which I feel could do with a more literary treatment. The brevity and grammatical simplicity of this one made it a logical place to start.
