Suttas about kamma and rebirth

Hi, I am not sure, but I think there was an old post with a list of suttas about rebirth and kamma but I cant find it…I am not sure if it was here on suttacentral.
Does someone have a post with a list of suttas about rebirth and kamma?

I can recall you and ajahn @Brahmali highlighted and quoted teachings from a couple of suttas during that workshop.
I vaguely remember the sutta about not everything being because of kamma, the other about the cartloads of wood, and maybe another about the eightfold path being kamma that leads to the end of kamma…
Maybe anyone in BSWA has a record of that?

I had a closer look at the list I posted above, and indeed I think what you are looking for is there.

If ‘rebirth’ refers to this term ‘samsara’, then, it seems no sutta uses the term under the teachings of the Buddha. I could be wrong? If correct, then, it seems the Buddha did not particularly teach about samsara.

The term ‘kamma’ is found in the suttas, e.g. SN 22.82, SN 35.145, SN 12.37 (cf. Choong Mun-keat, The Fundamental Teachings of Early Buddhism, pp. 66-7, 86-7, 199-200). The idea of rebirth is linked to kamma; however, the term samsara is not used in the suttas.

This not true. The term samsara and related terms (e.g. saṃsārena, saṃsaritaṃ etc ) is indeed found in the suttas.

The term is found in the SN suttas (but not in SN ii 263 mentioned in the dictionary), particularly SN 22.99 (SN iii 149) = SA 266. This text just mentions the term.

Having read the SN suttas, I may conclude that the Buddha did not particularly teach about samsara. He just adapted the local idea (cf. SN 22.99-100 = SA 266-267).

But he did teach about kamma (see the mentioned SN suttas: SN 22.82, SN 35.145, SN 12.37; cf. Choong Mun-keat, The Fundamental Teachings of Early Buddhism , pp. 66-7, note 136, 86-7, 199-200).

Interesting opinion you have, despite the fact the term is found across all main collections and not referred as an alien concept but as a way of describing the wandering through rebirths.

SN 15.1, SN 15.9-10 also just mention the term, indicating the Buddha in the texts just adapted the local idea of samsara.
