Haiku: your pet peeve and other musings about Buddhism

How can that which moves
distract from that which does not?
And so on it goes…

Focus on the breath
or focus on the noise - choose.
Still, nothing changes.

Though it seems to confuse them,
It amuses me.

Nature Inspirations

Tall northern forests
inspired great works of art
ancient cathedrals.

Ancient Bodhi Tree
inspired enlightened thoughts
helping humankind.

Sight of Earth from space
gives rise to contemplations
of Earth life as one.

Climate change can too
inspire us to live in
harmony with nature.

(Inspired recently by forest images and music in ‘Zen Meditation Music’ video on Youtube)

Listen! you can hear
Almost! The forest breathing,
Deep slow and even

There in the dark blue
Interior, oneness, like
In the oceans depths

calls the mind back, to
it’s own territory, it’s
ancestral domain

Nature Interdependence

Calls of birds from dawn
hear with mind emptied of thoughts
in the forest space.

Ancestral feelings
feel radiate from the heart
in clear mind space.

No Haiku owner,
only a very old stream
of Dharma in verse.

I absolutely can’t imagine how the 2018 Mods let you get away with placing a ballad in a haiku thread.

Full golden moon rise,
its gold just an illusion
and so is its rise.

Seasons come and go,
none can ever last for long,
their days are numbered.

Oh, when will my day
come mysterious and last?
May I be ready.
