Is there any news regarding offline use? I continue to get 0% download whenever I try it.

Hi, can you let us know your OS and browser (including version number)?

Windows 10 Pro (Version 1709)
Google Chrome Version 66.0.3359.170 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Oh, I figured something out - I cleared the download history and it is working now!

Do I need to do something to make it work offline?
When I try to open a Sutta that I havenā€™t viewed before, I get ā€œNetwork Errorā€.

Hi Tara,
Yes, clearing the download history (or the cache of your browser) and then download again and it should work. Let me know how it goes.

I tried this repeatedly, including updating the browser, clearing browser cache, clearing the download history for SC, and re-downloading, and eventually it worked. Iā€™m not sure what I did differently this final time so that I can use the downloads, but persistence seems to pay off.

Thatā€™s good to know. Hopefully over time the experience will improve.

Thanks for the feedback. There have been several reports of the same thing happening and Iā€™ve seen the same on my (Ayya Gā€™s) android. So I will make a GitHub issue for this but it will take some time.

While reading SuttaCentral in the side-by-side format I ran into a strange presentation. Partway down the page, the English and Pali were on the wrong sides, then a little farther down they were back on the correct sides.

Iā€™m still using

Windows 10 Pro (Version 1709)
Google Chrome Version 66.0.3359.170 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Itā€™s not easily reproducible, but occasionally I open a sutta and the page is blank until I refresh it. Sorry that this is rather non-specificā€¦

Huh, well thatā€™s a new one! I can see the same bug, so it must be a glitch in the coding of the the files, I guess. @Blake, can you check this and see whether the latest export from Pootle might have caused this?

If this happens again, before refreshing, can you open the browser ā€œinspectā€ tools, go to the ā€œconsoleā€ tab and see if it says anything?

You mean this sort of message?

Failed to load SuttaCentral
_=1527557675147: No ā€˜Access-Control-Allow-Originā€™ header is present on the requested resource. Origin ā€˜https://discourse.suttacentral.netā€™ is therefore not allowed access.

That was on the console, but Iā€™m not sure from when, and it may be completely irrelevantā€¦

Indeed.

Okay so this is the forum, not the main site. Is this what you meant in your original post? I too have noticed this occasionally on Discourse. We do not build this software, we just run it. I assume it is a bug and will be fixed in an upgrade at some point.

OK, as I said, I wasnā€™t sure when that message was generated.
What I was referring to was clicking a link to a sutta, and having a blank screen, which came right when I refreshed. Now I know how to find the information you want, I can look for it if it happens again.

I suspect it happens when my internet connection is a bit slow, but Iā€™m really not sure.

Actually, looking back, it looks like it was trying to load:

https://suttacentral.net/sutta_info/sn45.1?lang=en&298:100:

Itā€™s in line 747 of the output file:

#. </p><p> Bhagavā avoca
#. <a class="pts-cs" id="pts-cs18"></a>
#. <a class="pts-vp-pli" id="pts-vp-pli1.185"></a>
#. <a class="sc" id="sc21"></a>
msgctxt "dn9:18.1"
msgid "Taį¹ƒ kiį¹ƒ maƱƱasi, poį¹į¹hapāda, "
msgstr "What do you think, Poį¹į¹hapāda? "

There is a rogue Bhagavā avoca in the comments section.

OK, I think it turns out that my problem is just a slow network, and if I wait long enough it loads. Here were the errors while loading: SuttaCentral

Just noticed a paragraph starting mid sentence. Is this kind of thing intentional?

Thank you so much! Will make the changes to the Itivuttaka. The changes for Bhante @Sujatoā€™s text he will have to look at.
